Ballad of a Jr Hitman Its ok Jay have it your way, I’ll see ya again on that day no one could tell you a damn thing anyway Its ok Jay have it your way, go on ahead you just got tired of all the shit Now you’re gone and left us here with ma In the years ahead we will say your name and …smile On the road ahead we will hold you every mile Its ok Jay you did just fine, you met the challenge of Highridge hill no Jr Hitman could ever jump that creek Its ok Jay the reefs are safe, safe from your probing curiosities but the world feels lighter, lighter in heart In the years ahead we will say your name and …smile On the road ahead we will hold you every mile Its ok Jay you had to split you just got tired of all the shit now we’ll make ya a saint, just like common people do Its ok Jay we’ll watch the kids, we’ll watch’s grow just like we did they’ll tell their stories about their pa In the years ahead we will say your name and …smile On the road ahead we will hold you every mile

Great Emancipation Baby if you need an invitation maybe you’re not seeing things the way I do the way I do….. Maybe with a little education you could see the world the way the world sees you Now you gotta try something new Now you got a chance to be you Now you gotta feel something true Welcome to your new emancipation maybe you should move onto someone new someone new…… Everytime you get an inclination maybe you should think about it more then you do more then you do…… Now you gotta try something new Now you got a chance to be you Now you gotta feel something true Hoping that your new elucidation opens up your heart to something grand and new grand and new….. Welcome to your new emancipation maybe you could get on with the things you do the things you do….. Now you gotta try something new Now you got a chance to be you Now you gotta feel something true

Collier County line That swamp don’t love ya and that’s for sure she’ll rot your walls down and kick down your front door Runnin the line, the Collier County line burnin the night, like we just can’t see the line That girl don’t love ya, she told ya so she’ll take ya down and drop ya in a hole Runnin the line, the Collier County line burnin our time, like we ain’t got nuthin but night She ran ya ragged, and gave what for and when she beckons you’ll be back for more Runnin the line, the Collier County line burnin our lies, to keep us warm at night Hang on my dear, life comes in doses what’s one more year, one shit prognosis That town don’t love ya you saw to that you broke the contract and pissed right down her back Runnin the line, the Collier County line Burnin our lies to keep us warm at night Runnin the line, the Collier County line Burnin our time like we just can’t see the line.

Drunk Love Letter Threw her dreams in a wishing well Love ya darling but I wish ya well You could be the better man today Didn’t mean to make your mama cry But I think I know the reason why Doesn’t seem we really care much today Puttin all the pieces away Maybe we can drink this thing better This ain’t no life lesson song This is my drunk love letter One would suppose that one just doesn’t know Where its all gonna go in the end I see the moonrise reflected in your eyes And I know that somethings don’t mend. Puttin all the pieces away Maybe we can drink this thing better This ain’t no life lesson song This is my drunk love letter

Sacramental 04:48
Sacramental Let go Let go you never had control I know you thought you did in the lies we try and live Pull me under, under the water say the words and set me free hold me under, under the water Keep your secrets inside me Take hold take hold of the bars around your soul in the darkest of your dreams sucking marrow thru the seams Pull me under, under the water tear this veil and set me free hold me under, under the water Keep your secrets inside me I know, I know how your melancholy grows so obvious in your eyes Its not something you disguise Pull me under, under the water Keep your secrets inside me hold me under, under the water tear this veil and set me free

Sons of Dunning Tongues always wag in the holding pens but these are the hearts that I know its not that I need a friend I just need a place to go Can someone help me off the floor this woman shot me down before I don’t need your permission we drank up all the sex I won’t leave til the crops come home we still got time to regret Cold grey walls to cage my demon cold grey walls to beat my demon down I hear your voice, every mornin I know what’s real, and where I can be found Absolve my predilections and loosen my bonds I’ll make a run for it You won’t see my hide again I can’t feel my legs no more she may have poisoned me for sure don’t get near the waters edge there’s death in the shallows You’ll learn the jailhouse hacks and who to make a friend Cold grey walls to cage my demon cold grey walls to beat my demon down I hear your voice, every mornin I know what’s real, and where I can be found I know where my heart can live I’ve seen to its demise I’m not saying I deserve it but we built this house on lies Cold grey walls to cage my demon cold grey walls to beat my demon down All that I am in all my children I watch from the wall as they put you in the ground.

Dead Girl Waltz Tried to see ya but your never at your home Tried to see ya but your never at your home no more yellow tape across your door thinking I won’t be seeing you no more Tried to see but your never at your work Tried to see but your never at your work Big Jerk Your boss just ripped my favorite shirt Police say I ain’t welcome there no more Everything the papers say you know is just a lie I could never do her any harm I don’t care what people say I know she was my charm guess I’m gonna have to leave this town Called your message just to listen to your voice called your message just to listen to your voice not once, not twice…against all good natured advice thinking I should be layin low tonight Drove by your sisters, I thought that we could talk Drove by your sisters house, and now I gotta walk away things ain’t workin out my way thinking I should be leaving here Everything the papers say you know is just a lie I could never do her any harm I don’t care what people say I know she was my charm guess I’m gonna have to leave this town

about

“Songs are just places you keep your stories”, Mark Panick, lead singer and songwriter of Black Friars Social Club, explains of his life of loss and redemption. When Black Friars began their collaborative recordings, little did they know how spot-on these themes would be for our pandemic world.
Black Friars Social Club formed out of a residency in a gritty Chicago Irish pub (owned by a fireman, sadly burned down), where local and traveling musician friends and colleagues distilled songs down to their melodic skin and rhythmic bones.  Black Friars Social Club songs illustrate twisted tales from the alley shadows while tugging at your heart.  These collaborations are both deconstructed and developed. They paint stories of Panick’s recent personal loss of both his younger brother and sister and other tragedies, and his path onward.
